This has been a very interesting election to say the least. Both parties are pulling out all the stops. It is more interesting how loosely the term “Christian” is being thrown around.

I preface my writings by first stating that I am a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My loyalty first goes to Jesus Christ. Everything that I say and everything that I believe is filtered through the filter of Christianity. All my views and all my beliefs are bounced off the authority of scripture. I therefore have surrendered my will, my opinions, and everything else to my belief in what God says in His Word, the Holy Bible. That is how it is supposed to be; if you read and understand the Bible in its entirety it is about the creator of the universe demonstrating His love and His power for mankind through His inerrant word.

The primary definition of what real Christianity is about can be found in the book of Acts. If you have never read it you should. I believe that if most Christians really read and understood the book of Acts they would change their views about their faith or lack of. Most people that say they are Christians never really understood the Bible and therefore really  don’t have a valid view of what it really means.

I read through Senator Barack Obama’s book entitled “Audacity of Hope”. It is a very well written piece of writing. I am a writer myself and so I can appreciate a well written book. Based on what is in Senator Obama’s book and based what I have seen in his public service some themes are very clear to me. Senator Obama believes in a mixture of new age philosophy and a diluted form of Christianity.

Make no mistake about it; this election is about a lot more than this election. There is truly a spiritual battle going on and it seems that many people who call themselves Christians are fast asleep.

We have gotten so enthralled in the economy and health care that we have forgotten the more important issues that are plaguing the US as a society. The economy, the war on terror, etc. are simply by-products of the moral decline in America. I truly believe it is the ones who claim to be Christians that are to blame. I also know that if we continue in this decline then the economy and all other issue will only get worse.

Let me get back to this “new age” thing that I spoke of earlier. The term “new age” is a term for some of the more popular far eastern religions. New Agers believe it is OK to find your own way to God. People of the new age have basically denounced Christianity and Jesus Christ as outdated and primitive. They claim to be “progressive” and that we should make God into whatever we need Him to be. In Senator Obama’s book he mentions that his mother made him read from the Bible, the Koran, and other writings from the world’s major religions. This is why he proclaims that there are many paths to God and that Jesus is not the only way into Heaven.

Senator Obama’s theology is one that is very inclusive of all people. He doesn’t really stand for any one thing morally because everyone’s beliefs should be considered equally as relevant. That is why he accepts all of the world’s religions as valid ways to God. He states that he believes that same sex unions should be recognized by law. And that is also why he doesn’t want to limit abortions at any stage of pregnancy, even if the baby survives an abortion attempt. That is the scariest part of his voting record that I have seen.

I think it is backwards for us to fight for the working class people, to accept everyone’s right to make their own path to God; and even tell us that we cannot impose our beliefs in the sanctity of human life and marriage yet deny the most basic right of human life which is to be born. Babies don’t ask to be born, and under Senator Obama’s administration the fetus may become the most dangerous place in America!

But let me get to the most important issue here. As a true Christian I must realize that if my opinion differs from God’s Word than I am wrong. The Bible states that God created everything and he knows the end from the beginning. Due to those facts I believe it is shear foolishness for me to believe that my opinion is just as important as the Word of God. If you believe that you are smart enough to contradict God, then you are worshipping the wrong God. Finally, if you do not believe in the Bible and you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life then you are not a Christian!

I love the way Christians insult people of every other faith by proclaiming they are right and everyone else is wrong.

Do you have any valid proof that Christianity is more correct than Hinduism, for example?

Your faith is not proof, the bible is not proof, your testimony is not proof.
You have the right to believe as you wish but to pretend that you have anything more than faith to validate your religion is foolish.

You cannot validate Christianity anymore than a Hindu can.

Also, which flavor of Christianity is the right one? Mormon, Protestant, etc…
You can’t even agree amongst yourselves on which sect is the correct one.

I’m sure you won’t respond to any of my comments as you usually don’t. You probably don’t have any answers, but I have come to expect that from Christians.

God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise…

He’s Black
His middle name is Hussein
His last name rhymes with Osama
He’s our next President

God truly has blessed America today!!! We did it!

Dear Mr. Green,

I commend the level tone of your blog because exchanges like this can quickly become strident. Thank you for the opportunity to express my opposing viewpoint. I rarely self-identify as “Christian” because of they are often judgmental, intolerant and hypocritical. Below are the words (scriptures) I live by (you can label me “new ager” - I prefer “Believer”).

How I Walk Out the Word of God
- God is Light. In Him is no darkness at all
- God is Love

How will I know Love (GOD) when I see it (Him)?
- Love (GOD) is patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, is not proud, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs, does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, never fails.

What is the proof that identifies one in whom Love (GOD) lives?
- They live by the Spirit

How can I tell if they “live by the Spirit”?
- They have the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control

God is specific about penalties for disobedience/breaking the law
- if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law…
- all the law is fulfilled in one word: love your neighbor as yourself
- the law was our tutor to lead us to Christ that we might be made right with God by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the law.

“Christians” have failed to save the world just like the Jews failed. We forget “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not inputting their trespasses to them”. We’re flawed humans. We judge when we should forgive. We use Scripture like a club to bash people over the head (sometimes driving unbelievers further from God) when we should embody Love (GOD) to them.

My commitment is to walk out the Word of God daily by walking out Love (scripturally defined) and bear more fruit of the spirit.

The only thing I still can’t reconcile: the fate of non-Christians whose hearts/lives are more Christian than “Christians”…
- If the traits that define you are the same that define Love (GOD)
- If you “live by the Spirit”
- If you have the fruit of the Spirit
- If you have never confessed the name Jesus
Then … you burn in hell? (that does not compute)

I employ the reasoning that “if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, acts like a duck… it’s a duck”. If it looks like Love (GOD), sounds like Love (GOD), acts like Love (GOD)… It’s Love (GOD).

I’ll update the blog when the Holy Spirit opens the Scripture to me reconciling this quandary.

Be blessed!

It is good to hear from someone who is not alseep, in a trance, chanting, humming, dancing to drums, or listening to a spirit guide (devil), guru(devil inspired) or avatar (demon), etc., I am fighting this very thing-New Age Mysticism and Gnosticism. Go to Biblemaster.com, go to questions and answers, go to verse discussions, then go to NEW AGE and help fight the spirit of the antichrist.
